  MPSE and DePaul University are excited to present “Big Sound at Big Shoulders,” a sound‑focused panel taking place during the upcoming International Student Film Festival on

  Friday, February 27th, from 4:00–5:00 PM.
  DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts

  The session will be moderated by MPSE board member, Korey Pereira, who will lead an engaging discussion on sound design, post‑production workflows, and the creative role of audio in shaping compelling cinematic stories.

  Featured panelists include:

  Cory Coken, MPSE
  Partner, Noisefloor Sound Solutions

  Kevin Cagnolatti
  Freelance Sound Designer and Assistant Professor at DePaul University

  Michelle LeDuc
  Sound Designer, Periscope Post and Audio

  Attendees will gain valuable insights from the panelists’ extensive experience in film and television sound, along with practical guidance for students and emerging filmmakers looking to elevate the sonic dimension of their projects.

  Following the panel, guests are invited to stay for a reception with refreshments, offering the perfect opportunity to connect with peers, network with industry professionals, and continue the conversation in a relaxed setting.

  Eligibility for all submissions to the 73rd Annual Golden Reel Awards must have had their initial US domestic release between 01/01/2025 - 12/31/2025, with a submission deadline of December 1, 2025. The submission deadline for the Verna Field Student Award is October 31, 2025. Nominations will be announced January 12, 2026. Any submission must not have been previously submitted for the 72nd Annual Golden Reel Awards. More Information
